Ysgol Gyfun Cymer Rhondda

Eco-Schools: Competition

Eisteddfod Competition:

Many pupils of Key Stage 3 created a logo for an area of scrap paper within every room in the school.  Many pupils created work of a very good standard:

Lewis Morgan, Dafydd Cartrer, Chloe Viscount a Cerys Evans

The winner of the logo was Elinor Rees for creating a logo of a very high standard, with many creative elements to the logo.  This logo has now been photocopied and distributed around the school, creating an area specifically for scrap paper within every teaching room in the school.  Well done you Elinor. Congratulations!

Create an eco-schools badge:

The council created a competition that was open to all pupils within the school to create an eco-schools badge for the school.  Pupils had to think of what exactly eco-schools means and what would be appropriate to represent the school.

Many pupils created very creative and professional badges, showing that many pupils of Ysgol Gyfun Cymer have a creative flair.  Dafydd Carter 7E came very close to winning, with Ellis James 7E and Lowri Hurley coming joint third.

The winning badge was created by Rhys Johnson 11C, with all members of the council agreeing that the badge was a good representation of eco-schools within the Cymer, linking all the key elements of eco-schools.  Well done Rhys.

Below is the winning badge which will represent the school with eco-schools.
