Understanding the KS3 National Test Results

NASA – Mission Control 2017

Sixth Form students Carys Woolley and Taliesin Evan Jones Spend 5 days at King’s College London working with astronauts, world renowned scientists and NASA leaders, in the UK’s most exciting STEM summer school!During their stay they performed the role of a research scientist in addition to working within a team to develop science projects. Their mission was to create an experiment to be carried out in space and to present their ideas to a board of esteemed judges. Carys and Taliesin take time to have a photograph with Sarah Murray - Assistant Chief of EVA, Robotics & Crew Systems who is responsible for the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory Space Walking training facility. She has held roles in Astronaut Training and Mission Control.

Congratulations to Jasmine Allison on her success in the competition “A week in London” 2017

“ A week in London ” is a competition, jointly run between the Welsh government and Judicium Education (9.7.17 – 14.7.17) , which offers a uniques week of work experience to 8 students in Wales. Jasmine, we are very proud of you! Good luck and we look forward to hearing about your adventures!

Welcome Year 6

We were very pleased to welcome our Year 6 cluster pupils to our school this week. The transition day was yet another opportunity to meet new friends and get a taste for school life at Y Cymer.

Cymer Win Green Flag Award

Our school community is celebrating following the awarding of the Green Flag award this week. We extend our thanks to our Eco-Council, under the guidance of Mrs Maxwell-Lyte, for all their effort and leadership throughout the year whilst preparing for this important award.

Seren - star of the Pool!

Congratulations to Year 7 pupil, Seren Haf Jones, on representing Cardiff City Swimming Club at an International Swimming Gala, held recently in Stuttgart. Seren and her team mates won a Bronze medal at the Gala. Excellent Seren!
