The extensive use made of computers both at home and in the workplace makes it essential for pupil's to gain experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and be able to use it confidently. The Department uses the latest technology to teach the pupils and maintain the highest standard's.
The Department's main aim is to give pupils the opportunity to develop their computing, comunicational and logistical intelligence through opportunities within the subject. We try to encourage not only the understanding of ICT through the medium of Welsh, but curiosity and enjoyment also.

Key Stage 3
ICT is taught to every pupil in Key Stage 3. Pupil's reinforce the skills developed in Key Stage 2 and extend their skills and knowledge in Communicating Information , Data Handling and Modelling fields.
Key Stage 4
"Most pupils make very good progress and achieve outstanding GCSE results in the subject" - Estyn Inspection 2008
Pupils follow WJEC GCSE ICT in years 10 and 11 which continues to develop knowledge and skills with an emphasis on the use and application of Information Technology in day-to-day life. Pupils are expected to create a portfolio of work which demonstrates their skills in the same three strands as in Key Stage 3. Pupils that study the full GCSE course will, in addition to the portfolio, need to create a project based on a local business. This will primarily involve changing an established paper-based system into a computerised system.
Key Stage 5
Students in Years 12 and 13 study WJEC AS/A-Level Computing. The course consists of four modules in the A-Level course, including one task set by the WJEC and one project based on a local business. Differening from the GCSE course, students are expected to go in greater depth with their solutions to the problem and are encouraged to write their own original code in the Visual Basic programming language in preparation for further eductaion.
All of the departments teaching resources are available 24/7 on the school Moodle VLE.
